Stay a Step Ahead of Medicare Fraud
As beneficiaries of Medicare, you have the right to recognize and prevent fraud, errors and abuse. In partnership with Medicare and Indiana’s Area Agencies on Aging, Senior Medicare Patrol’s (SMP) primary goal is to prevent, detect and report Medicare fraud, errors and abuse. We'll arm you with the knowledge to identify common scams, safeguard your personal information, identify and dispute billing inaccuracies and avoid unnecessary charges. Even if you're unable to handle these issues on your own, we can work with family or caregivers to ensure you're protected. If necessary, we'll also refer you to outside organizations that can intervene. Stay safe and informed with SMP.
Learn MoreHow We Can Help
SMP staff and teams of highly trained volunteers conduct outreach to Medicare beneficiaries in their communities through group presentations, exhibiting at community events, answering calls to the SMP help lines and one-on-one counseling. Like much of the SMP audience, most SMP volunteers are retirees and Medicare beneficiaries themselves and are well-positioned to assist their peers.
